"… Robert2 Stedman {Lt. John1), b. Hartford 1 Feb. 1657 (Hartford VR), d. Lebanon 4 Jan. 1735/6 (Lebanon VR). … In 1715, Robert gave his Podunk home lot, received in 1693 from his father-in-law Joseph Fitch, to 'my loving son Robert Stedman of Windsor' (Windsor Deeds 2:114, 4:56), who d. there intestate and insolvent before June 1721 the father, Robert Sr., and his heirs. When they sold it in 1728, those heirs were Joseph Stedman of Windsor; Samuel Stedman 'of Cape Ann'; Samuel and Thankful Hutchinson, and Josiah and Mary Thomas of Lebanon; and Josiah and Hannah Burnham of Hartford (Windsor Deeds 5:352). In Jan. 1730/1, Samuel Stedman, 'late of Windsor, now residing at N[ew] London,' quitclaimed his 'sixth part' of that property to [his brother-in-law] Samuel Hutchinson Jr. of Lebanon (Windsor Deeds 6:211). In Feb. 1733/4, Robert Stedman Sr. conveyed to 'my two sons Joseph Stedman and Samuel Stedman' rights to lands in Windsor, Torrington, and (modern) Ellington (Windsor Deeds 6:193).
