Notes

Robert Pryor seems to have been a carpenter during his time at Petsworth Parish for he appears in the Vestry Book as early as 1695 when he was paid for posting the church and making a horse block. In 1697 he tarred the roof of the church and in 1700 he made benches and horse blocks. In 1707-1708 he is paid for shingling the Church. His name last appears in 1743 as one of a pair of processioners. If this is the same Robert, he would be about 80 years old at this time. John Pryor and Arthur Pryor are mentioned as adults by 1715-1719, and could possibly be sons of Robert. 1783-1784 sees a Christopher or Christian Pryor and an M. Pryor collecting tithe lists for the parish. Ancestry Member Tree
