[Stamps-Sites_TFS.FTW] REFN: 15+_ ROBERT PRITCHARD The first mention of Robert Prichard/Pritchard co mes in 1637. He is one of 10 persons transported by Thomas Bernard who recei ved 500 acres in Warwick River Co., Va on 20 Aug. 1637.1 On 10 Feb. 1662, Ro bert Prichard received 136 acres by Mungars Creek and Coratoman Creek for the transportation of 3 persons.1 He also received a certificate for transpor ting "ffrances his wife and Anne Barber", 21 Sept 1667.2 Robert appears to hav e owned large amounts of land. There are several records of land deals, one o f which indicates a member of his family. On 16 Nov 160, Robert Pritchard pu rchased 800 acres in Lancaster belonging to John Walker and William Pue.3 An other record reveals a somewhat complicated land deal. On 16 Aug 1670, Robt. Pritchard was given a patent of 218 acres, which he sold to Harman Hawkes on 15 Mar 1671, and which Harman Hawkes resold or assigned to Robt. Prichard on 12 Nov. 1673. Then, on 8 May 1677, Robert Pritchard assigned this same 218 acres "to his Sone in Law Richard fflint". Richard fflint, in turn, assigned this land to William Lux (or Lae or Lee) on 8 May 1677. On 12 Feb. 1678, "Mary the wife of Richard fflint consents" to this last (?) assign- ment of t he 218 acres.4 In another land deal, "Robert Prichard, Boatwright, sold to John Wells 100 acres of land, 19 March 1673 & he assigns to John Roach, 12 ff eb 178/9, Mary the wife of John Wells consenting."4 When Robert Pritchard died is not known. The last record I can find involving him is in a court record dated 8 May 1677 involving a "difference between Robt. Pritchard and Sarah y e now wife of Thomas Wood."5 Also, there is the will of his wife, Francis, dated 02 Oct 1679 and revised 03 April 1680 in which she appoints as executo r of her will "my loving husband Mr. Robert Pritchard."6 One child of Robert and Francis is mentioned in the will of Francis. She is Ann Finch, former w ife of William Frizzell, and then the wife of George Finch. Ann's children by her first husband, William Frizzell, are mentioned as grand- children. They are Franciscus Frizell, Margaret Frisell and Mary Frisell. Ann's children by her second husband, George Finch, are also mentioned as grandchildren. They are Elizabeth and Rebecca Finch. For some reason, Mary Flint is not mention ed in the will of Francis.
