Hypothesis: Uriah is Robt G.'s younger brother. Go to 1820 census

I hope to find answers to some intriguing issues. For instance, I think my ggg grandmother's (Lutitia Merideth) aunt (Eliza) was also her (step) grandmother. And Eliza's sister (Amanda) is married to the brother (Uriah) of the grandfather (Robert G. Peeples) if my suspicions are correct.

My first introduction to Eliza was in the 1850 census where she lived with Uriah Peeples, his wife, Amanda Merideth Peeples and their four children along with Alfred Merideth, brother of Eliza and Amanda and John (Lutitia's father). In 1850 Robert G. Peeples is married to Malinda Self and they have six children. Robt G was 51 and Malinda was 46 in 1850. Their youngest child, Louisa is six.

In 1860 Lutitia's parents (John and Nancy Peeples Meredith, daughter of Robt G. Peeples) are not to be found, and Lutitia and two of her three siblings are scattered in different households. The third sib is not to be found in 1860, but he did survive, and my grandfather had stories about Uncle Andy.

Robt G Peeble's wife in 1860 is Eliza Merideth, who is 26 years younger than Robt. Robt and Eliza married 9/11/1855. Eliza is sister of John Merideth, Lutitia's father. Lutitia's youngest sib, James, born in 1850 (he appeared in the census, but had not yet been named) lives with Robt G and Eliza Peebles, with the three youngest children of Robert's from the 1850 census and three new ones who carry the Peebles surname. James Peebles was born in 1850; Wyatt in 1855 and Amanda in 1857.

The politically corrent inference is Robt G's first wife Malinda Self died in child birth with Wyatt in 1855 at the ripe old age of 51. But that's probably post-menopause. So Wyatt is probably Eliza's child. As they were married 9/11/1855, Robt G. and Eliza wasted no time conceiving Wyatt.

Next best hypothesis is Malinda died in child birth with James, when Malinda was 46. That may be post-menopause. Louisa, the youngest child who is comfortably Malinda's was born in 1844 when Malinda was 40. Maybe Malinda was pregnant another four or five times before 1850 and lost the kids. And James was the one who survived Malinda. Or maybe James was also Eliza's child.

Between 1850 and 1860, John Merideth, Nancy Peeples Merideth and Malinda Self Peeples all disapprear from census records. Maybe there was a deadly contageous disease. Maybe there was serious domestic discord.

Robt G and Uriah Peeples are about 15 years apart in age. In 1830, Uriah's father, Nathaniel Peeples shows one child who is Uriahs age range, but Robt G. (who married Malinda Self in 1825) is not showing up in1830. But 1820 census tells me Uriah is the youngest of seven kids and there are two in the age group where Robt G. fits.
