    ROBERT MCKEAN, son of Robert and Margaret Sloan McKean, was born in County Tirone, Ireland, February 12, 1795, and at the age of twenty years (in 1815) with his mother and sisters, Margaret and Ann, emigrated to America, and located in Washington County, Pa. Robert married Mrs. Mary McClintock in 1817, to whom was born four children:
    (1) MARY H., born October 5, 1818; (2) THOMAS, September 14, 1820; (3) Alexander, September 1, 1822; (4) SARAH, March 17, 1824. Robert McKean died in 1832. His widow March 17 1867, and his mother Margaret Sloan McKean died in Amwell township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, in 1842. Her son James McKean, came to this country in 1819, and settled in Washington County, Pa., and removed to Meigs county, Ohio, in 1845, where he died October 18, 1858.
