DIED
Saturday, the 12th ult. died of the wounds he received on the 10th, on his way to Washington district court, S. C., from 4 or 5 assassins in ambush, Robert Maxwell, esq. sheriff of that district. He has left a most excellent woman but now disconsolate widow (daughter of gen. Anderson) with a large family of young children. Three suspected persons have been apprehended, and pursuit was making after the fourth.
