A man of rare martial genius who laid the plan of attack at Glenfruin. It is asserted  by Andrew McEwan of Maine that this Robert was the eldest son of Duncan Abrach, contrary to the claims of the present chiefs. Moreover he says that descendents did exist in the mid-18th century and the line has not been shown to be extinct.
