Robert H. Loofbourrow, 89, of Amarillo died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. in Covenant Fellowship Church with Stephen Gaines, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Robert was born June 11, 1924, in Buffalo, Okla., to Wade and Edith Loofbourrow. He graduated from University of Oklahoma with a law degree.
Mr. Loofbourrow proudly served in the Army during World War II. He was stationed in the Phillippines and was only 100 miles from the bombing at Hiroshima. He later practiced law in Boise City, Okla., for many years.
He married Jean Glass, and they later retired and moved to Amarillo. He was an avid investor. During his free time, he loved to fly-fish, travel, play golf and read. He also volunteered at City of Refuge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; a son, Robert W. Loofbourrow; and a sister, Marilyn Word and her husband, Walter.
Survivors include a son, Terry Loofbourrow and wife Linda of Kingston, Okla.; his daughters, Ann Kincannon and husband David McCleskey of Austin and Jane Gaston and husband Scott of Camargo, Okla.; a niece, Barbara Moses and husband Dennis of Topeka, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to City of Refuge Outreach Ministries, 613 S. Adams St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
