At the residence of his son-in-law, S. J. Carlisle, near Farina, Ill., March 30, 1893, Robert Langworthy, in the 77th year of his age.
He was born in Brookfield, N. Y., and was the son of Dea. Saunders Langworthy and Mercy Langworthy. At the age of fourteen he was baptized by Eld. Eli. S. Bailey and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Brookfield. Afterwards he moved his membership to the church in DeRuyter, while attending school at that place. In 1842 he was married to Eliza Irish, with whom he lived happily thirty-four years. He moved to West Hallock, Ill., in 1855, where, in 1876 his wife died. In 1880 he was married to Miss Sarah Burdick, who died about two years ago. He was a member of the church at West Hallock while residing in that place. He moved to Farina in 1875, and united with the Farina Church, of which he was a worthy member till his death. He was a consistent Christian, and without doubt was ready for the messenger death, which came while he was sitting out of doors, and without a moment's warning. Of his six children, four survive him. C. A. B.
