[edit] Records in VirginiaCulpeper Co Court, 18 May, 1840. By the affidavit of George Scott Kennady and on motion of Abigail Shields, Martha and Betty Kennady it was ordered to be certified that William Kennady was an officer in the Rev. War. (The deposition is the same as Goodall's) and that he died in the county of Augusta about the year 1817, itestate, leaving several children who were his only heirs at law: namely, Robert, James, David, George, Polly, Abigail, Martha, Betsey and Margaret Kennady. That Robert, James and David moved to the West: Robert has since died leaving children; Polly Kennady married William Black, Jr. and resides in Kentucky; Abigail married a Mr. Shields of Augusta Co,. VA and is now a widow. Margaret married William Black, Sr., and died intestate and without children, about 1823. Teste, F. Mauzy, Clerk of the Court. Note: George Scott Kennedy was a brother of Robert Campbell Kennedy. References
