    ‘Bobby' Jones
    PLAINS – Funeral services for Robert N. "Bobby" Jones, 86, of Plains, were held Monday, Sept. 14, at First Lutheran Church in Plains with the Rev. Joel Walde officiating. Burial followed in Plains Cemetery.
    Mr. Jones died of natural causes Friday, Sept. 11, 1992 at Clark Fork Valley Nursing Home in Plains.
    He was born May 26, 1906 at Wyndmere, N.D., the son of Ed and Bessie Nicol Jones. He grew up and attended school at Ryegate, Mont., where his family ranched. One of his earlist memories was the passing of Halley's Comet in 1910.
    In 1931, he moved with his parents to Ovando, Mont., where they ranched.
    He and Lucille Petersen were married March 6, 1934 at Deer Lodge. The couple made their home at Helmville, until moving to Hamilton in 1938. They moved to the Plains area Nov. 3, 1939, where they ranched. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, in 1981. In 1984, Bobby moved into Plains where he has lived since. In 1986, he traveled to Australia to see Halley's Comet a second time.
    Survivors include a sister-in-law, Edna Petersen of Hall, Mont.; two nieces, Marion Buckley, in Washington state, and Pamela Petersen, Kodiac, Alaska; and two nephews, Raymond Jones, in Washington state, and Jim Petersen of Hall.
    He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rex Jones, in 1979.
    Memorials are suggested to the Plains Public Library.
    Coffelt-Bunch funeral Services of Plains was in charge of arrangements.
