Robert Lee Gano, a well-known attorney of Dallas, died yesterday afternoon at his home on Ross avenue.
Mr. Gano was born in Bourbon County, Kentucky, Feb. 22, 1867. He attended the Georgetown (Kentucky) College, taking the freshman and sophomore work, and then went to the Kentucky University, now Transylvania University. Shortly after leaving school he came to Texas and spent a year in Brewster and Presidio Counties in the cattle business. In 1891-2 he attended Texas University and here graduated in law. After that he went to the University of Virginia, taking law under John B. Minor. Returning to Texas, and being in bad health, Mr. Gano spent another year in the Western part of the State and then came to Dallas. For the first two years of his residence here he was in partnership with his brother, Maurice D. Gano. In 1895 he became a member of the law firm composed of William B., Robert Lee, and Maurice D. Gano, with which he continued until the time of his death.
