Finley, Robert - born 4/23/1762 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania; entered service 1778 while residing near Winchester [Frederick County], Virginia; resided after Revolutionary War in Fairfax County, Virginia; thence to Frederick County, Virginia, where granted Pension in 1835 when residing there for 7 years; affidavit then by Margaret (b. 4/1762), wife of soldier's brother Archibalc; query letter in file in 1915 from descendant Mrs. Helena Daily, Aurora, Illinois, states soldier's middle initial was "W", & he was born in 1750; query letter in file in 1940 from great great granddaughter Mrs. Emma B. Grubb, Franklin, Indiana, states soldier Robert W. [Finley] was born 1755-1760. F-S16797, R976.
