Robert ELSE marriage to one Mary TOLHURST at Bethersden, Kent 27 Dec, 1813. Witnesses: Joseph JARVIS and John BEAN (Source: familysearch.org)
Edward ELSE marriage to one Mary WILSON at Bethersden, Kent 6 Nov, 1818. Witnesses: Clark HILLS (farmer) and Charlotte WILSON (Source: familysearch.org)
To date, no record has been found, by this researcher, of a marriage between Robert ELLS/ELSE and a Mary WILSON or WILLSON
NB: Edward Else, otherwise Edward Tolhurst (born around 1818) appears (along with a Robert Else) on the Criminal Registers (ancestry) for larceny. (Trial date: 3 Jan 1839). This may be the Edward Else who appears in the household of the shoemaker Robert Else at Boughton Malherbe, Kent (1841 Census). He may be the miller/dealer/grocer Edward Else, who appears in the 1851 Census for Minster-in-Sheppey, Kent, with whom is said to be his mother (a widow?) and Edward's 'sisters'. The Else sisters (Martha and Sarah) appear in the 1841 shoemaker Robert Else's household in Boughton Malherbe, Kent. Edward's mother is, in this researcher's opinion, NOT the mother of the 'sisters', who is believed to be Mary TOLHURST.
Although the two Mary Elses share the same name, they differ on their dates of birth.
In my opinion, the Mary Else in the 1851 Minster-in-Sheppey Census is NOT the Mary Else who appears in the 1841 Census for Bethersden, at Tuesnoad Farm, with whom may be sons from her marriage with Edward Else (1799-1841). This particular Edward Else does not appear on the 1841 Census for Kent. Edward Else seems to have been buried St Mary's Church at Bethersden, Kent, 9 February, 1841.

- In the 1841 English Census, ages of adults were rounded down to the nearest "five" year, so someone listed as as 45 would have been between the ages of 45 and 49.
