    Robert J. Dorner Sr., cherished husband and father, died peacefully at Aurora BayCare Medical Center on June 9, 2014, at the age of 92.

    Born June 7, 1922 in Luxemburg to the late Jacob G. and Frances K. (Rank) Dorner, Bob was a dairy farmer and owned and operated Dorner Equipment installing farm and barn equipment. In addition, Bob "worked out" at a variety of jobs over the years including jobs at Endlich Packing Company and Knaus Construction. Bob had many talents. He was able to draw blueprints, do custom cement work, and surveying. He loved operating his backhoe which he did well into his 80's often digging graves at various cemeteries throughout the area.

    Bob was a life-long member of St. Mary's Church, Luxemburg, and attended St. Mary's School. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5844 in Luxemburg, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Holy Name Society and ushered at St Mary's for many years.

    Bob said that in his day a man who was not married by age 25 was a "confirmed bachelor." But at the "advanced" age of 27, Bob married his love and life partner, Elaine Kust, on October 22, 1949 at St. Joseph's Church in Pilsen. Together they raised 10 children.

    Bob is survived by Elaine, his wife of 64 years, and their 10 children: Joyce McCall, Milwaukee; Steve Dorner, Luxemburg; Lloyd Dorner, Greenville; Robert (Louann) Dorner, Jr., Luxemburg; Keith Dorner (fiancé Dawn Krause), De Pere; Brian (Kim) Dorner, Luxemburg, Barry Dorner (fiancé Lisa Cochran), AZ; Wesley (Brenda) Dorner, Green Bay, Kay Dorner (special friend Lindsey Donald), Milwaukee; Bruce Dorner, Pulaski; three brothers, Jake Dorner, AZ; George (Gerry) Dorner, Sheboygan; Tony (Lois) Dorner, AZ; two sisters, Laura Hessel, Kewaunee; Marie (Don) Kassner, Two Rivers; 16 grandchildren: Rene Dorner Kirk, Stacy Gille, Brent (Shani) Dorner, Tom Hazaert, Shannon Dorner, Stacey (Brian) Wilson, Alicia Stiles, Jessica McCall, Brandon (Crystal) Belschner, Sheena Stiles, Andrea Belschner, Melissa Allen, Sam Dorner , Mallory Dorner, Courtney Dorner, Mikayla Dorner; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

    He is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Beverly (Harold) Paye, New Franken; Ken (Eloise) Kust, Luxemburg; John Frisque, Green Bay; Diane Brezinski and Shirley Kust, both of Kewaunee.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law Joseph and Ella Kust; one son-in-law, Forrest McCall; one daughter-in-law, Mary Dorner;

    Friends may call at the ST. MARY CHURCH, LUXEMBURG, 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 12, 2014. Closing parish prayer service 7:30 pm Thursday. Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 10:15 am Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 10:30 am Friday at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg.

    The Dorner family would like to thank the nurses and doctors and especially Michael and Kirsten of Aurora BayCare for the special care they gave to Dad.
