DIETZ, Sr., Robert C. Age 63, of Middletown, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 12:45 a.m. at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born March 22, 1943 in Middletown to Robert P. and Irene (Whisler) Dietz and lived in this area all his life. He graduated from Monroe High School. He was employed at AK Steel for 41 ư years retiring in 2003. He was a welder, and known as "Garfield" by his friends at AK Steel. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Orioles Nest #193. He was an avid race car fan and loved the Ocean. He was preceded in death by father, Robert P. Dietz; aunt, Bessie Johnson. He is survived by wife of 24 years, Gale Jean (Thacker) Dietz; mother, Irene Dietz ? Middletown, Ohio; 2 sons, Robert C. Dietz, Jr ? Middletown, Ohio, Chris Thacker, wife Laura ? Middletown, Ohio; 2 daughters, Kelly Singer, husband Michael ? Middletown, Ohio, Sherry Carey ? Middletown, Ohio; 2 brothers, William Dietz, wife Linda ? Middletown, Ohio,David Dietz, wife Roseann ? Middletown, Ohio; 1 sister: Linda Dietz ? Middletown, Ohio; 9 grandchildren: Cody, Nick, Zach, Sierra, Brooke, Jessica, Michael, Jacob and Ryan; many special nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; special life long friend: Jack Wills, wife Ruthann, Middletown, Ohio; brother-in-law: Steve Thacker, wife Judy ? Middletown, Ohio. His wish was to be cremated and have a memorial service. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 29, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodside Cemetery Chapel with Jerry Minor officiating.
