Robert Byrd Cooksey, 76, died of a heart ailment at his home in Kennett Friday morning at 5 o'clock.
Funeral services were conducted at Steele Methodist Church at 2:30 Sunday afternoon by the Rev. Marvin Niblack, pastor. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Cooksey, who had been in ill health for several years, was a retired farmer and business man of this city and was well known here. He had made his home in Kennett only a few months.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Cooksey of Kennett; four sons: Paul Cooksey of Los Angeles, Calif., and Bert, Robert and Thomas, Cooksey of Kennett; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth McKnight of Kennett; and a brother, Guy Cooksey of Chicago, Ill., also two nieces and two nephews.
