    Robert Fulton Alexander, 70, died of a heart attack at his home Tuesday, August 22, 1944. He was a member of the Baptist Church and had lived in this community six years.

    Funeral services were conducted this afternoon (Thursday) at 2:30 o'clock at the Baptist Church with the Rev. H. W. Ellis officiating.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Alexander, five sons, Vernon of Higginson, Arkansas, Tom of Humboldt, Tenn., Homer of Steele, Robert of Batesville, Ark., and Ernest Alexander, serving with the Armed Forces. Also two daughters, Mrs. R. C. Bogard, of Redfield, Ark. and Mrs. Russell Frakes of Steele; two brothers, H.R. Alexander of Hayti and G. W. Alexander of St. Louis, and 13 grandchildren.

    Pallbearers were Charles Bates, John Ahern, William Turner, Joe Turnbo, Garrett Dillender and Gaston Brown.

    Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
