Richard Tyner
In that county, on the 17th day of August 1823, Richard Tyner was born at a time when that portion of the country was just emerging from its forest condition. Hence with the surroundings incident to the period, when he was of age to receive properly appropriate the advantages of a school education, the opportunities were not present, and the did not acquire that quality of intellectual culture he most desired. He made the most of the situation, however, and early determined to become the architect of his own fortune, carving out his own fortune by utilizing the means at command, and the exercise of that native talent with which he was liberally endowed by nature. ... Mr and Mrs Tyner are the parents of nine children to wit: Salina married to Joseph Morphew; Amanda, married to Jacob Klutz; Elijah, married to Katie Kaufman; Aaron(deceased); John, married to Lucy Jenks; Robert, married to Emma J. Frederick; Richard H., married to Martha M. Misner; Francis R.(deceased); and Avery, also deceased.
