Coming from the inner area of Ireland, we wonder why the movement to Burt. Problems with the Government (British)?? Burt is a rich agricultural area, but so was Laois. Perhaps service to a particular Landlord. In this case Lord Templemore who owned Inch Island and much of the Burt area.
