"1. Richard² Scarritt was born at New London, Connecticut, 24 May 1690, his father's identity uncertain but possibly he was an older Richard Scarritt who died at New London 5 March 1716. Richard² Scarritt's mother was Ann Stedman, born in June 1668, daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Isbell) Stedman." … Richard² Scarritt died between 16 October 1738, the date of his last land transaction, and 19 February 1739/40, on which date his daughter, Abigail, was married at New London and called 'daughter of Richard of Branford, dec'd.
