Richard Northmore was baptised on 22nd April 1787 at Meavy in Devon, son of John and Ann Northmore. In 1819, aged 32, he married Grace Drake at Walkhampton. They appear to have had six children together, some baptised at Walkhampton and some back at Meavy.
Grace died in 1830, aged 37. Richard survived her by nineteen years, and appears in the 1841 census at Goodameavy Farm in the parish of Meavy, where he was the farmer. Richard died on 21st April 1849, aged 62.
