Acquisition of Land from Orange County, Virginia Records:
- Pages 162-64. 24 July 1740. Thomas Jackson of Orange County to Richard Mauldin son-in-law and Sarah Mauldin wife of said Richard Mauldin, own daughter of Thomas Jackson, both of same county. For natural love and affection. During the term of their lives with condition they neither sell, leas or rent out the land. 100 acres, one acre adjoining the mill accepted [sic, excepted] out of the bounds... in the little fork joyning on the Rapperdam (Rappidan) River... on a hill by Thomas Jackson's fence... on a branch...
