Richard H. Loughner, 82, of Jeannette, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, in Greensburg. Born March 19, 1920, in Penn Township, he was a son of the late Daniel J. and Beulah Caslow Loughner. He was a self-employed building contractor. He was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla Commander of the Irwin Unit and captain of the Pittsburgh division of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, receiving his 35-year service award. He was a member of River of Life Church in Greensburg, and a Scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America in the Irwin and Westmoreland area. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Berniece Lakin Loughner; two sons, Richard K. Loughner of Greensburg and Gary L. Loughner and wife, Susan, of Greensburg; three brothers, Samuel Loughner of Raleigh, N.C., Fred Loughner of Shreveport, La., and Glenn Loughner of West Newton; two sisters, Dorothy Heinks of Virginia and Florence Stevenson of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Aaron K. Loughner of Jeannette, Bryan J., Joshua and Toni Marie Loughner, all of Greensburg; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Daniel W., Henry, Wayne, William and Eugene Loughner. Friends will be received at the VINCENT V. RODGERS FUNERAL HOME, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Sheldon Moore officiating. Interment in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
