Will of Richard of Norwalk, 31 Oct. 1704, proved 6 Dec. 1704; wife Sarah all est. for life; to her near kinswoman Mehitabel Warner now with me, my now dwelling house, lands, etc.; smith tools; to Jonathan son of Jonathan Stevenson dec'd, former servant whom I brought up from a child, £10; to Samuel Hayes, Sr., of Norwalk, 40 shillings; to Thomas and Richard the two youngest sons now of John Bouton, Sr., of Norwalk, 20 shillings apiece; residue to the now daus. of well beloved brothers, John Holmes, Sr., of Bedford, and Stephen Holmes, Sr., of Stamford. Inv. 23 Nov. 1704; widow made oath. Sarah Holmes, widow of Richard and Exec'x of his will, reported dec'd at Court 4 Dec. 1706. Adm'n granted to Mr. Samuel Hayes and John Bouton. Sundry children of Robert Warner of Middletown dec'd are next of kin. On 27 Jan. 1706/7, John Bouton being dec'd, John Benedict appointed in his place.
