Facts and Events
Sources for information about Richard Hinchliffe have been difficult to find. He died before the 1841 census and his given name was only found on the marriage record of his daughter Alice, which also stated that he was a schoolteacher and his son, with the unusual given name of Noble, was a witness. His age has been assumed from that of his wife, Eliza. Although some baptisms of Richard Hinchliffe were listed between 1811 and 1819, none appeared to be in the area of Fulstone and Hepworth. Schoolteachers can be perpatetic, especially in their early years in the profession. References
