Born c1831 to Eliza Clarke, spinster, of Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire and [blank]. Sailed to Australia on PARSEE 1856/57 arriving Moreton Bay Feb 1857. Moved to Mudgee District via Sydney, and purchased land at Stony Creek about 1863 - where he also married Catherine Delaney of Ireland. Successful farmer.
