"… the will of Martha's father, Richard Chitty, weaver, of Chichester. In his will dated 20 April 1635, proved 10 January 1637, Richard stated that he was 'four score and three yeares' old. He left his properties in Chichester and also in Godalming, Surrey, to his wife Margaret Chitty, and directed that after her decease, it was to be divided between his two daughters, Martha, wife of William Langrish, and Alice, widow of John Stubber, and after their deaths to go to their children. He appointed his widow Margaret Chitty and his daughter Martha Langrish as his sole executors, …"
