Lived on Watauga River until 1831 (Washington Co. TN Deed Book 19 pg. 495); not located 1840 census. He may be the Rice Duncan indexed as a soldier in the War of 1812 in Bunch's Regiment (1814), E. -- In Sullivan Co. TN 1850 (pg. 80) a Clora Duncan (female) was in the household of Cornelias Trusler b. 1804 VA, Elizabeth b. 1805 TN, Elizabeth b. 1836 TN; Susan Motron b. 1785 TN; and Clora Duncan b. 1769 TN. It is possible this was the widow of Rice Duncan, but there is NO PROOF. Mr. Charles Gordon suggested that Clora Duncan was the widow of John Duncan who died in 1811 in Granville Co. NC, since the name Clora is very unusual.
