Rhoda Shrewbury and her husband, John Brickey (1794- ) had at least eight children, Jared or Gerard who married Mary Hall, Nathaniel who married Martha Hendricks, Elijah who married Christina Austin, Gabrield who married Latitia Burdette, John who married Elizabeth Hines, Haden who married Mary Janes Horne, Daniel, and Mary. Some stayed in the Roanoke and Craig County area, and some moved to Brekenridge Kentucky. And some left few records to follow. John and Rhoda lived out their lives on their Catawba farm, and are buried with John' mother and father. There may be other Brickeys buried at that same place, just off of the Catawba to Fincastle Road. According to Nancy, John and Rhoda were married in Bontetourt County on 7 March 1818.
