6. Rhoda James Miller, married July 25, 1855, Edmund Pendleton Chancellor, a great-great grandson of Capt. Richard Chancellor, a soldier of Charles II, who came to Westmoreland County, Va., in 1682. Here he married Catharine Fitzgerald Cooper a granddaughter of Richard Cooper, one of the Virginia Charter Members, who came to Virginia in the year 1634. E.P. Chancellor's grandfather, Thomas Chancellor, was a private in the Virginia Line in the Revolution. His wife was Judith Gaines, a niece of Edmund Pendleton. E.P. and R.J.M. [Rhoda James Miller] Chancellor are the parents of Edmund Pendleton, Jr., married Belle Carnahan; Eugenia, married Castella Rathbone; Rose Carroll, and Nan Preston.
