Rebecca Wright was baptised on 26th January 1823 at Aston Clinton in Buckinghamshire, daughter of a carpenter called George Wright and his wife Elizabeth. The 1841 census finds Rebecca living with her parents and siblings at Green End Street in Aston Clinton. She was described as a plaiter.

On 26th August 1847, aged 24, Rebecca married a baker called William Edmonds, who was a widower about ten years her senior. They do not appear to have had any children. The 1851 census finds Rebecca still living on Green End Street in Aston and still working as a plaiter. William was away from home on census night, but there as a visitor and a lodger in the house as well as Rebecca.

By 1861, Rebecca and William had moved about 16 miles east to Luton, where they lived at 9 York Street, and Rebecca worked as a bonnet sewer. Rebecca's widowed mother lived there with them.

William died in 1866, aged 53.

The 1871 census finds Rebecca living in the village of Totternhoe, working as a general servant at the Bull Inn. Later that year, she was married at Totternhoe to a straw dealer called William Kempson, who was a widower from Totternhoe. They were married for about five years until his death in 1876.

The 1881 census finds Rebecca living at Church End in Totternhoe and working as a needle woman, with a twelve year old girl boarding with her.

On 21st January 1885, aged about 62, Rebecca married for a third time. Her third husband was Thomas Dimmock. They married at Totternhoe but then moved to the nearby town of Leighton Buzzard. The 1891 census finds Rebecca visiting in Leighton Buzzard whilst Thomas was away from home (quite possibly in Sheffield).

Rebecca died at 2 Stanbridge Road in Leighton Buzzard on 18th April 1894, aged 72.
