    Children of David Howe and Sarah Whitney: Rebecca Howe, b. 15 Oct 1817, married 21 Nov 1844 "her cousin" Samuel Whitney. "She was drowned, together with her husband, by the sinking of a boat, through which a hole was knocked by the ice, in crossing Penboscot Bay, March 31, 1846. Her body was recovered and interred at Lincolnville, but was afterwards removed to Castine. His body was not recovered."
