Rebecca Hobbs was born on 3rd July 1751 and baptised two weeks later at Hitchin in Hertfordshire, daughter of Rebecca Hobbs, formerly Bracey, and her husband Thomas Hobbs, a brick maker. Rebecca moved with her parents a few miles to the south to Broxbourne, where she was married in 1770, aged 19, to a John Bacraft. They have yet to be researched after their marriage.
