She was the daughter or James Edmiston of Droop Mountain, VA/WV, her brother Matthew also immigrated to the same area and his descendants still live there as of 2023. She migrated with her husband William Woods in approx. 1807 from the Little Levels/Droop Mountain area of present Pocahontas Co. WV.
