History of Beverly, Civil and Ecclesiastical, from Its Settlement in 1630 to 1842, p. 211, says Henry Byles of Sarum, England, immigrated to this country as early as 1640. If this is so, it suggests that Rebecca was born in England, as her age at death calculates to a birth in 1638. This source says the mother, Rebecca, was the widow of John Hall before marrying Henry Byles, but I believe it has the sequence backwards. In other words, Rebecca, widow of Henry Byles, married John Hall. Source:Salisbury, Essex, Massachusetts, United States.
