    Raymond was born at home in Burlington, Iowa, the oldest son of Edward and Hattie Senn. In 1943, he enlisted in the Navy, where he served on the USS Pennsylvania and the USS Andromeda. He received the Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal, and the American Area Campaign Medal.

    Later in his life, Raymond moved to Trona, California, where he worked in a chemical plant. He was living in Trona at the time of his death.

    He was cremated, and his ashes were buried near the graves of his parents.
