OBITUARY
Mrs. Minnie Kylen
Mrs. Minnie Esther Kylen was born February 21, 1902 at Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Peterson) Pelleymounter. The family moved to Bancroft where she grew up and received her education. She taught school for several years in Bancroft and rural Bancroft.
She married John E. Kylen at Bancroft on August 21, 1926. They moved to Chicago shortly after their marriage where they lived for 3 ½ years. In 1930 they moved back to Bancroft and then to the Swea City area where they bought the farm still owned by the family. They became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church on March 25, 1934. Mr. Kylen passed away in April, 1948. Mr. Kylen has been a faithful member of this congregation and was regular in attendance at worship until failing health made this difficult for her.
Mrs. Kylen was taken to the Estherville Hospital on January 20 with pneumonia. She seemed to be recovering satisfactorily from this when she suffered a stroke on February 2 and her condition deteriorated rapidly. She passed away Monday evening, February 5, having reached the age of 70 years, 11 months and 13 days.
She is survived by three daughters: Dorothy, Mrs. Raymond Latham, Mason City; Phyllis, Mrs. Harold Hays, Thompson and Florence, Mrs. Richard DeWall, Grand Meadow, Minnesota, and by eight grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Robert Pelleymounter, Lakewood, California and one sister, Mrs. Paul Krater, Loma Linda, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and by 17 brothers and sisters.
May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn her passing.
Friends are invited to join the family for coffee in the Social Hall following the burial.
