Ralph R Lee was born in Erie, Pennsylvania 6 June 1879 according to his passport application. He was educated at Yale University and is found on the 1900 census as a student at Yale. He is also found in 1915 at Harvard University Law School.
Ralph and Dorothy married in August 1929, and they are found on the 1930 Census in Washington, DC where he worked as a lawyer. He has been previously married and his son, Theodore are living with them along with Dorothy's three sons from her marriage to Arthur DeBaun, Sr. Ralph and Dorothy later divorced.
