    Rachel Hughes Cottrell was the daughter of Jesse and Grace Tanner Hughes. She married William Cottrell(Cottrill) 25 May 1794 in Harrison Co., VA(WV), by Rev. Joseph Chevoront.
    They were the parents of nine children. He died in Lewis Co., VA(WV) 12 Dec 1825 and is buried at the Harmony M. P. Church Cem., Jane Lew, Lewis Co., WV.

    In Memory of Rachel Wife of William Cotterill [sic]
    Born 1779 Died July 16, 1860 Age 81 years
