Rachel is a difficult woman to follow in the census. She was born in 1864 so should be easy to find in the 1870 census.

To confuse the family dynamics further, Rachel may have been a single mother (maiden name STRYKER) or married a man with surname STRYKER, but either way, Rachel lists Pierce STRYKER as her father, and her daughter Pearl was given the surname STRYKER.
