Some North Carolina marriage records show that Prudence Lattimore was a widow [some referring to her as "Mrs. Prudence Lattimore"] prior to marrying Amos Chitwood, but other sources, including "The Lattimores: a Family History", have identified her as a daughter of Daniel Lattimore and Ann Stockton. The naming of Prudence and Amos' 3rd son Daniel Lattimore Chitwood, follows naming patterns and supports her as a daughter of Daniel Lattimore. If Prudence Lattimore was married prior to her marriage to Amos Chitwood, it would have only been for a short while, additional research may be needed.
