The Bolivar Free Press. Vol. 3, No. 5, Thursday June 30, 1870, pg. 3;
CEDAR COUNTY--Mr. A.J. Holman, living a short distance southwest of Stockton died suddenly on the morning of the 20th inst. (inst. = within this month). He is reported as having been in good health and only the day previous traveled forty miles."
=======================================
NOTES; There is currently a wooden bar helping support his broken & repaired headstone (as seen in the photo on Find a Grave). On a previous visit to the Younger Cemetery, I carefully unscrewed one side of the bar and moved it to read the birth date, before carefully replacing the bar and replacing the screw. The birth date of April 16, 1816 is very clearly carved and easy to read.
An inventory/appraisal of Andrew J. Holman's estate was listed in Cedar County Court records in July of 1870.
Andrew J. Holman's wife/widow was named Priscilla (sometimes spelled Precilla or Percilla). Her estate inventory was taken 20 March 1886 in Cedar County by their son Christopher Columbus Holman (1848-1923), so she probably died in Feb. or March 1886. Family Members Children
