PHYLLIS ROBERTSON HARDY

1920-2007
On Monday, July 2, 2007, Phyllis Robertson Hardy died peacefully at home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who was lost at sea during World War II; her father and mother, Russell and Minnie Robertson; her step-mother, Isabel Robertson; her only sister, Barbara Bjorensen; and her older brother, Russell Robertson all of Pensacola and her son-in-law, Dale Brenden of Seattle, WA.
A lifelong resident of Pensacola, Phyllis was born January 25, 1920. She graduated from Pensacola High School in June 1937. She was a member of Florida Chapter #9, Order of the Eastern Star. For many years she was very active in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Known affectionately as "Mom Phyl" she served as Mother Advisor and Advisory Board member of Assembly #8, and as Grand Deputy of District #1, State Mother Advisor, and Director of the Grand Representatives in Florida
She retired from U.S. Civil Service in January, 1980, after working for 37 years in the Disbursing Office at NAS Pensacola, FL.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Brenden; granddaughters Kim Singer of Boston, MA and Kerri McConnell (Larry); and Great-grandson, Kelson McConnell of Everett, WA; brother John Edward Robertson (Carol); sisters-in-law Carolyn Robertson and Dottie Furr (Howard) and her step-sister, Vivon Abercrombie as well as many nieces, nephews. She also leaves behind dear friends Vera and Darry Adkison and countless others.
In accordance with her wishes, Phyllis' body has been donated to the University of South Alabama Medical School and her ashes will be interred at Barrancas National Cemetery.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Saturday, July 07, at 10:00 am.

In memory of her long dedication to the I.O.R.G. contributions can be made to The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, c/o Mrs. Jackie Harmon, 1311 Avalon, Casselberry, FL 32707. In appreciation for the extraordinary care she received in her final weeks, contributions can be made to Covenant Hospice, 2001 N. Palafox, Pensacola, FL 32501.
