Quality: 4 In the name of God Amen, I, Phinehas Gage of Merrimack in the County of Hillsborough, being weak of body but of sound and perfect memory do make and publish this my last will and testameent in manner and form following, that is to say.-- First I give and bequeth unto my son Stephen Gage all the household furniture which he has in his house belonging ot me. Also I give and bequeth unto my son George W Gage twenty five cent I do also give and bequeth unto my daughter Anna Fisher twenty five cents. Also I give and bequeth unto my daughter Lydia Wilkins twenty five cents. Also I give and bequeth to my daughter Sally Wallace twenty five cents. Lastly as to all my notes and all the rest and residue of my personal property whatever, after paying the above legacies - I give and bequeath unto my son Enoch Gage, whom I hereby appoint my sole executor to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have herunto set my hand & seal this second day of Dec. 1839. - ↑ He volunteered in April 1777 under the command of Lieut. John Bradford, marched to Portsmouth & New Castle and served six weeks.
In July or August, he enlisted at Merrimack under the command of Capt. James Ford and Col. Moses Nichols for two months. He marched to Bennington, was in the battle there and discharged on 1 October 1777.
