Often, it might mean that the births were recorded by the town clerk, but later discovered to have occurred outside the jurisdiction of the town clerk. However, Timothy appears to have been active in town affairs at the time of these births and his death is recorded in Granville, probably ruling out that possibility? The birth date recorded here agrees with the age at death and appears accepted by the literature.]
