Peter Leslie Martin, born at The Plains, October 31, 1887 passed away March 31, 1919 at the age of 31 years at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Elder of Canaanville Road. Death resulted from infection contracted at Camp Sherman where he offered his services as an undertaker, during the influenza epidemic.
The deceased was united in marriage to Frances Elder, September 19, 1908. To this union one child was born Elder Martin. Besides his widow and son, Mr. Martin is survived by his mother Mrs. Peter Martin, also two half brothers John Martin, Walter Martin, and a half sister Mrs. Belle Coe. The deceased was a graduate of the Athens high school and attended Ohio University several years and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and a member of the Masonic lodge. He has been engaged in the undertaking business for several years, being located in Pomerey, where he was prominently known as an undertaker throughout Pomeroy Bend. His last location was in Columbus. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Funeral services for Mr. Leslie Martin will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Elder, on the Canaanville Road. Friends may call at the residence between the hours of 9 and 12 Wednesday morning. The remains will be interred in the West Union street cemetery
Born 31 Oct 1887, died 31 Mar 1919, age 31. He married a Francis Elder, 19 Sep 1908 and had one child, Elder Martin.
