Person:Peter Dewitt (3)

Based on 1810 and 1850 census records - the first of which indicates that Peter's wife was born by 1765 and the latter of which indicates that his widow Rebecca (now the widow of Archibald Elliott) was born about 1776 - it is assumed that Rebecca was Peter's second wife, whom he married after the 1810 census. It is, of course, possible that either or both census records are incorrect, and that Rebecca was the mother of (at least some of) Peter's children.
