"On 13 April 1635, 'Peter Cooper,' aged 28, was enrolled at London as a passenber on the Susan & Ellen [Hotten 59]. COMMENTS: This passenger has been identified as the man of the same name who appeared in Rowley by 1641, but there are reasons to doubt this conclusion. First, there is no record for Peter Cooper in New England for the six years between 1635 and 1641. Second, the passenger of 1635 was already 28 years old, and so, if he were the same as the Rowley man, would have been 34 when his first child was born. Third, most of the early settlers of Rowley came to New England in 1638 and 1639. The identification of the 1635 passenger with the Rowley man is not impossible, but is far from certain."
