Edward Ratchdale's Letter of Procuration or Letter of Attorney and Attestation annexed: 14 Oct 1709 "Before me Ralph Peters, Notary Public and Tabellian Public, dwelling in Liverpoole, County Lancaster, K' dom of Great Britain, appeared John Atherton of Liverpoole, son and heir of Peter Atherton ... 100 acres near the head of the south branch of Second Creek all of which were purchased from James Murphy of Talbot, who was then agent in Maryland for Peter Atherton, deceased, and purchased and paid the consideration thereof in the name of Thomas Sandiford (as appears by an instrument of writing 23 Sep 1686 under his hand and seal).
